You are the foundation of BT's success, and it is time to talk Pay!
As pay negotiations open, it’s essential that you have your say and that BT know how important your pay is to you.
CWU members are vital to BT!
- You generated £6.2 billion in earnings for the first nine months.
- You built the network to 21 million premises – over 1 million in quarter 3 alone.
- You achieved record full fibre connections – 571,000 in one quarter.
- You drove customer satisfaction to record levels.
- You adapted to new AI systems, intended to simplify work, but often making it more intensive.
- You made sales and encouraged customers to bundle packages and contributed to EE being the best mobile network for the 11th year in a row.
All of this while BT was driving cost transformation and pushing you to deliver efficiencies and cutting costs in real terms.
BT’s leadership talks about ‘that winning team that we all want to be a part of.’ A winning team deserves fair pay. For BT to ‘return to growth’ and tackle the challenges of line losses and fierce competition, investing in the people who are creating success is crucial. You need a pay rise to compensate for the increased cost of living that you are feeling on a daily basis.
The real foundation for BT’s future isn’t just infrastructure – it’s also people. You’ve delivered brilliant results in difficult conditions and now it’s time for BT to deliver for you.
Your CWU negotiators will begin pay discussions with BT next week and your voice is important.
You can do two things that will make a difference:
- Tell your local CWU Branch what you expect from this pay review
- Tell your line managers what fair pay means to you.
BT wants a winning team; they need to invest in the people who deliver the wins!
Yours sincerely,
KAREN ROSE
Deputy General Secretary (T&FS)
