Equalities
Our branch has various Rep/Officers who have completed more focused training in Equality and so we are well placed to support Members within the workplace facing different types of discrimination, whether that be direct or indirect discrimination.
THE EQUALITY ACT: KEY CONCEPTS
“The Act defines the various kinds of discrimination with reference to the characteristics which are protected under the Act”
These are:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender reassignment
- Marriage and Civil Partnership
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Race
- Religion or Belief
- Sex
- Sexual orientation
We believe building an inclusive and diverse union has never been more important. Everyone should be free of any direct or indirect discrimination and harassment or bullying and the right to be valued and respected. The better-quality – membership data we collect, the better we can support you, our Members.
There are various ways you can update your membership details, this is a link to show you how to do it directly on the CWU website but you can also contact our branch directly.
