The CWU Openreach National Team discuss the importance of engineers doing pre use vehicle checks. Openreach are running a campaign to ensure that Pre-use inspection checks are completed by Openreach engineers.
Discussions continue with Openreach on improving the Holman app, explaining the checks, and identifying barriers to completing the checks.
Most important is that members are safe and their vehicles are safe to drive. Tune in to find out progress and everything about safety checks. Stay safe.
It is important that you complete the pre-use inspection checks for your own safety and ensure that your vehicle is safe to be on the road.
Your CWU Openreach National Team are continuing to discuss the issue with Openreach as we recognise that there are a number of issues which are a barrier to completing the checks. We also recognise that the 15 minutes to complete the checks are within your own time and you are not paid to do this.
You can support these discussions by advising your local CWU branch representatives about the issues you have, and they can feed the issues into the discussions.
Please ensure you do complete the checks and report any vehicle faults. Your safety and the safety of other road users is most important.
